About Nicholson's

The idea for Nicholson’s was born from our founder’s passion for all things Great Britain. Nick Sanders traveled the U.K. extensively and fell in love with the amazing warmth, genuine hospitality and unique style of the public houses there. Much of the design was strongly inspired by Cafe Royal Circle Bar in Edinburgh, Scotland. We take great efforts to create a supremely authentic Scottish Pub experience, as the majority of the furniture and fixtures are from Great Britain. There is also Scottish soil underneath the bar and threshold so every guest is stepping onto a piece of Scotland when they walk through our doors. Our primary goal is to deliver an exceptional, unique, and singularly authentic experience every time.

This was our first time at Nicholson’s. We made a reservation and were sat in a quiet back area right next to the fireplace. We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer, shared two entrees, and ordered a dessert. Everything was amazing, and we really liked the atmosphere as well. We will definitely be back. - 12/21/2025

Nicholson’s is always a favorite. My wife was there earlier in the week for a pre concert dinner with friends and they all loved it. We attended our first bourbon dinner there and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Food was great. The bourbon pairings were wonderful. (We bought two of the five featured bottles on the way home.) Nicholson's Scottish Pub is one of our favorites. The food is made fresh from scratch (no pre-packaged anything), the service is excellent, the prices are affordable and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. They take reservations and we can count on getting in and out before an Aronoff Show. We visit Nicholson's at least five afternoons every week. It's always a favorite stop on the Riverside Food Tour Streetcar + Findlay Market tour. Guests love the bangers and mash; creamy homemade mashed potatoes, gravy and pork sausage. Best home-y food in Cincinnati. Have been here at least 6 times and always had a good experience. On this last one they ran out of ice cream, and so the manager literally ran in the cold to Kroger to get it. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some good food.
